How I became Thomas Burner in Lucy's Kingdom
On April 7, 2018 I answered a casting call for a role in a film with the working title "Sandcastle". Got sides for the scene called 'stand off' and sent in this video the following day..
About 3 days later the director emailed me and said they liked my video a lot and I was invited to the callback the following Saturday. Unfortunately I was filming the movie 'Cause Of Death: Homicide' that day and they were kind enough to let me send in another video. They wanted some minor changes (one was less movement). April 17, 2018 I get the email every actor loves..."Dear Paul, We would love to offer you the role of "Thomas Burner" in "Lucy's Kingdom" (the official project title). I was emailed all the details and releases. I also got the script the following day. The first rehearsal (table read) was set for May 20th 2018. Below are shots from the rehearsal of the 'stand off' scene with 9 year old actress Kiera Pitts.
All the actors did a great job at rehearsal and were very professional. Also everyone got along great which is important to the project. The scene 'stand off' in the film "Lucy's Kingdom" was set to shoot on June 21, 2018 in Cocoa Beach Florida.
Filming went off without a hitch. It was a hot day, about 88 degrees and very humid. Below are some behind the scenes shots from the day of filming the scene entitled 'stand-off'.
